This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The incumbent is assigned to the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) unit within Spinal Cord Service. In addition to providing direct patient care, this psychologist may have clinical supervisory responsibilities when working with psychology trainees, and limited administrative duties, Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for patients with complex or unusually difficult conditions in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit; Provides education to Spinal Cord Injury patients, family members, and significant others; Provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions and behavioral medicine interventions, including individual family, and group psychotherapy (both in person and through telehealth) for the Spinal Cord Injury unit; Provides consultation to professional staff within VA Medical Center at Memphis and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment and discharge plans; Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients; Provides clinical supervision and instruction for psychology interns and post doctoral fellows; Assists the program director or coordinator in the design, development, and implementation of clinical programs for the SCI team of treatment providers; Develops and facilitates research initiatives for interventions for Veterans diagnosed with spinal cord injuries and secondary health conditions; Facilitates liaisons with other VA Medical Center at Memphis health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services; Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes); Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1630 Compressed/Flexible: Not approved Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
