The OR Manager is in charge of the day to day activities in the unit assuring responsibility and accountability of associates in providing assessment and care to the surgical and anesthesia population, taking a leadership role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing plan of care provided by the patient care team and of the coordination and assisting with providing appropriate staffing levels in the OR and CRNA team, administering counseling and discipline, maintaining attendance records, and completion of performance evaluations. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for validation and reconciliation of patient charges and assist with the unit budget. The OR Manager will oversee usage of supplies and equipment, collaborate with SPD management to assure equipment is available and cared for appropriately, address housekeeping issues, and ensure that all CHRISTUS and unit specific policies and procedures are followed. The OR Manager will facilitate monthly staff meetings with approved agendas as well as attend Leadership meetings and management forums as designated. He/she will assist with technical nursing care and interventions as required with a designated patient population per the departments Scope of Practice (infant to elderly adult) in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served. The OR Manager helps assure standards of care and practice are maintained. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. It is expected that the OR Manager demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values and he/she shall support the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini's strategic plan and the goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

* Completes and documents initial assessment/care within required time frames. * Performs, reassessments/care at intervals as required or appropriate to the patient's needs. * Ensures physical assessment/care includes all major body systems. * Ensures spiritual assessment/care if a critical patient. * Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into assessment/care. * Correctly differentiates between normal and abnormal findings. * Makes appropriate referrals for positive high-risk screens.
